Ready for the week!

Good Monday Morning to ya!  Boy oh boy did that weekend fly by, or what!!?
James and I were blessed enough to have my mom, dad, and grandma come visit us for the weekend!  We love that time with them sooooooo much!  We eat, we laugh, and James realizes where I get my goofiness from!  :)

Saturday we were able to give them the experience of a lifetime:............a walk and shop through the largest white elephant sale known to man (or at least known to us up here on the range)!  By the time the doors opened, all the good stuff was sold in minutes, except for the doors themselves!! So, we snatched up a great deal on a door for our basement.  James has an amazing idea in store for it and we are excited!  I will have to take pictures of the process and share a DIY post on the transformation, when that project happens!!

Dad and James did some "drum gear" shopping on Saturday and the ladies stayed home.  I wasn't feeling too good for a little part of the weekend, but I am so glad my mom was there.  She is so caring and knows how to make any of her girls feel better! Thanks Mom!
Once James and Dad made it back from their "gold mine" of a find, we had some dinner and
tried one of Grandma's new recipes: Hillbilly Casserole!  I will definitely be sharing that recipe soon!

Sunday was sweet!  We all had lunch with James' mom and dad & Gerald and Phyllis! It was lovely to have that time with everyone and eating at Sammy's Pizza made it all the more perfect!! :) The rest of Sunday was spent resting, grocery shopping for the week, making homemade bread (it is best with a little Grape Jam, if I do say so myself), taking Rainey on a walk, and playing Scrabble as a family.

It was just a wonderful weekend and I feel refreshed and ready for what this week will bring!
How about you?!  I hope you are ready for what this week will bring too!

Blessings to you!

I see it.

I have been gone from this "e-space" for some time, but I am back and have such a sweet sense of rest and peace within. Do you know that feeling I am talking about? When you take a moment to breath and renew and rediscover things. It isn't just because of this beautiful season called Spring, even though I am sure that helps. :) Just such a sweet thing it is, like the smell of magnolia blossoms, from what I hear. We aren't able to see the beautiful blossoms upnorth yet, but soon that day will come!

So, I haven't spoken of it much, but James is back in school now for the next 2 years.  He is taking evening classes after work and going through ministry training.  Therefore, we see a little less of eachother, but when he comes home at night....I SEE IT.  I see that the man is where he NEEDS to be, right now...studying his heart out to go deeper, to know the Lord like he never has before, and to interpret this calling that God has placed on his life.  God is amazing in His timing and the way He reveals His will for our lives.  It is sweet, indeed.  There is something beautiful about it and I can't really explain.  To be stretched in our marriage like we never have been before is challenging, but I know it is equipping us for what our next season of ministry will look like....whatever that will be.  I'm just grateful to see these things come into bloom: new sense of peace, love, hope, and passion in life.
It has allowed me to trust God greater than I ever have.

'Tis so sweet to trust in Him.

May this season be one of new beginnings and sweet peace for you! :)

This is Spring?!

When you live in northern Minnesota, you have to be reminded again and again that
just because the calendar says it is Spring, it doesn't mean it has to feel like it.
This is what Saturday looked like (all snowy and white)....it felt like Christmas in July April!

Boots: Herbergers
Jeans: Charlotte Russe
Sweater: thrifted
Scarf: Walmart
Glasses: Elaine Much

Good thing I haven't boxed up my boots for storage yet, 'cause could you imagine walking around in short-sleeves and sandals in this?  I don't think so!!  Been there! Done that!  I remember being so cool not so smart in my pre-teen and teen years by wearing sandals when it was below zero.  SO COOL? Not cool at all! James always jokes saying that is why my toes are permanantly frozen.
That poor man endures my toes every night when I crawl under the covers
and I am beginning to realize that is probably the reason it takes him longer to fall asleep at night.  Who knew?! ;)

Have a warm, "Springy" Wednesday (hopefully)!
