Hey There! Even though Thanksgiving is gone....

Hey!!!! Even though the lovely, Thanksgiving vacation is gone (as I enjoyed the long break) there is so much I am still thankful for.  I am thankful for my husband, our families, our Savior, as well as you Monday.  When you come around, I am thankful I can wake up and enter a new week.  I am blessed with a job that I love and God has blessed me with that financial provision.  What an amazing blessing to have in the times that we live in! I know that there are days when I feel like sleeping past the alarm buzzing, 'cause if I said I never felt that way, I'd be lying!  But really, I am going to be thankful for waking up and for that alarm, 'cause it is what helps me get to work on time......Well, actually husband does that with a call every morning....Like I said, I am thankful for you husband!  I am thankful for today!

Unplanned Plan

How was your weekend?! Did you find that time to relax and take a break?! I hope you did.

James and I sure did take time to relax and it. was. perfect.  Why?!......because we didn't make any plans.  We just "went with the flow."  It seemed I had forgotten how to do that though, because.....

I asked husband on Friday night:

 

Me: "So, babe!....What are we going to do tomorrow?" 

Husband: "We have no plans, so I don't know?!" 

Me: "I know, so what are we planning on doing?!"

Husband: "All I know is we are sleeping in."

 

:) A plan to sleep in was in order, but the rest was up in the air!...

(sounded like a good "unplanned" plan to me!)

 

I guess I just need to be reminded to not make plans where we have no plans...if any of that makes sense!?

Husband, I loved being reminded and thanks for a great weekend!

Sweet Mail from Sweet B

So, I called James yesterday to let him know I was on my way home from work.  He told me I had a package that came in the mail! Yay!  I asked him to tell me who it came from.  He wouldn't.  I asked nicely with a "please," and he still wouldn't tell me.  Arg!  I was so eager to find out who it was from, but knew I wasn't going to get any hints from the hubby!  

 

When I walked through the door, the package was sitting right there on the dining room table.  I gave a Rainey a pat, and James a kiss, then walked on over! Aahhh!  A package from my sister Beth! A little "this and that"....sweet birthday mail. 

2 lovely-smelling candles (I wish you could smell them through the computer screen!)

2 trimmed pillow cases (She knows I love the detail....)

1 brownish, blueish, greenish scarf (I could wear it with anything, no matter what the color!)

1 pair of GAP ankle socks (She knows how I miss GAP and it is VERY cold up here, so I will be fashionably warm.)

1 green polka-dotted skirt (AAAHHH!!! When I am not wearing this skirt EVERY. OTHER. DAY., it will be hanging in my closet next to my other polka-dotted favorite, ....seen here!)  

 

Thanks B! You are too sweet and I miss time with you!!  I hope we can take a random day and do random things together....maybe hit up SAVERS.  Love thrifting and antiquing with YOU!  Love YOU!

A Break.

I can't believe I am saying this but........James and I have nothing planned this Saturday!

NOTHING.....and we have talked about it and we are NOT scheduling anything.

We are actually "going with the flow" this weekend and we can't wait, or we can because we want to enjoy it......enjoy eachother!  We are learning and are in a process of slowing things down instead of constantly being busy...(like I talked about here &here).  God is gracious as He reveals that more and more to us.  If you are need of not scheduling anything this weekend, my advice is to just do it!  Please don't quit a job, or cancel on someone because of me though.....I'm just trying to encourage you to give yourself a break every once and a while.... :)  For us, it will be Saturday.  For you, it may be right now.  Go ahead....pour yourself a hot drink of some sort, turn off your computer screen, and sit.  I dare ya! ;) 

Maybe even grab yourself a Kit Kat, just because.

I love you and hope your birthday was special! You are such a beautiful woman and mom and sister.  You have a soft and caring heart....perfect for your James and the kiddos.  I hope that this next year ahead will bring much blessing and greater love than you have felt in the past year.  I can't imagine not having you in my life and hope you know that I love you! Love orange....but not on the walls!

While James has been hunting.....this gal has been painting!

If you know me....I LOVE TO PAINT, SERIOUSLY!

Give me a canvas, furniture, or a wall and I will have at it.

Our middle room, aka Room 2 (as seen on the "After" picture to your right)....aka Orange Room is now officially NOT ORANGE!! YAY!!!! Let me inform you that we bought the house with this orange room and I like orange...it just didn't fit our home's feel. 

That's right our home has feelings or whatever...okay?! :)

 

I used to have "this thing" with the color orange, though.  My family can account for it too!

I remember keeping a used Wheaties cereal box with the Green Bay Packers - Super Bowl Champs on the cover (way to go boys!). 

The reason I kept it was because it was orange.  I also kept a Cheetos bag for months just because of the color.  I had so many things in my "Orange Collection" that I can't list them all, even though you are dying to hear it (I know).....but, one that I received from my grandma when I was about 10 years old was one I will never forget and possibly never get rid of....

 

It was an orange dustpan.....

Grandma gave it to me and told me to keep it for when I had a house and was married.....

I loved it.....(remember I was 10 years old going on married and owning my own house, and I didn't even know it)!  I still love orange and I still have that orange dustpan sitting in my closet next to it's mate...the broom.  Thanks Grandma for keeping my love for orange alive but not on my walls! And, if you had Internet, you would be able to know I still use that lovely gift, Grandma B!

Hey there! I'm Tiff, but you can call me Tuff.

 

I feel very tough in these boots I bought from Target last Fall.  I mean, it was the first time I ever bought a pair of shoes online (I never had tried them on in store) which makes me pretty tough and brave, I'd say!? Also, these babies are Leather. Black. & Beautiful.  I feel the need for speed or to ride a motorcycle or something.....or a bicycle, ...whatever.  Pairing them with these white pants might not be the cleanest idea I ever had though!?  Call me crazy, but for some reason these boots make me feel like I can take on anything.  Plus, I have the Lord on my side and you can't mess with that.  Best combination EVER! :)

Dear Rainey,
I appreciate your "woooowoooowooos" every morning 'cause I know that it is close to the time I need to get up. Thank you for waiting for me to get home everyday so you can sneeze all over my face ever so gracefully!  Wherever you step you leave behind love and joy.....and hair, even if we vacuumed 5 seconds earlier!  James and I enjoy hearing you run and "tic tic tic tic" across our wood floors....it's just nice knowing you are here and there and in everything! ;) Thanks for wagging your tail so hard because you love us (I hope you don't have to have hip surgery someday because of it, but if you do....we will be there to show you our love...).

Dear James,
I am so proud of you for giving your best at work, and home, and in our marriage.  By the way, I look forward to being able to share cold, long winters with you, because you keep my toes warm.  Thanks for allowing me to share all my concerns and thoughts (and emotions many times) too.  You know how to listen and I like that.  You really care and that is real love!  Let's take some time soon to just get away and enjoy US.  P.S. I think you are smokin' hot!!!!

So...It's my birthday and all I 'm going to do tonight is relax with the hubs and maybe catch up on some much needed sleep!

That sounds like a wonderful birthday evening, if I do say so myself! :)

One thing I would like to say to you today that I have been reminded of myself is this:

No matter what age I am, my past is not my potential and today is a gift from my Creator. The greatest gift I can give back in thankfulness to Him is my life.  I hope that all I do with my life in my 24th year
brings glory and praise to the only One who knows how many days and years I have.

So there I was, hoping I would be married to a lumberjack for one month....denied!

Oh well...i guess my lumberjack outfit is as close as I'm going to get! :)

I can't believe the weekend is here already...fast, fast week, I tell ya'. 

 

So....my younger sister Steph surprised me with an early birthday gift.  I had to go to the post office to pick it up on my lunch Wednesday.  I will share a little bit from her little green note she wrote to me....not all the gushy stuff though, 'cause those words were just for this lady. :) So sweet they were!  Anywhooooooo,....it said:

" 'Gift 1' is for you to eat when you light 'Gift 2' as you write in 'Gift 3'.....or something like that." 

 

 

                               Gift 1 = Sea Salt Chocolate (yum.....)

                               Gift 2 = Fall Apple/Pear Candle (yum....but I'm not going to eat it)

                               Gift 3 = An empty Journal (so I can write all my thoughts and prayers and hopes and dreams....seriously great!

 

 

Those are three things I am going to eat or smell or write in......

Welcome November!

Welcome November!  I can't believe you are here and I am so excited to see you! 

I know it's crazy 'cause I'm talking to a month that cannot be excited with me, but you can...you as in my friends, family, readers of this blog! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are excited for the month ahead!  Holiday season, turkey, stuffing, thankfulness!  What more do you need?....oh, mash potatoes, of course!!!
